Rolley+ owner's manual

Each Rolley+ is handcrafted to high quality standards. Read this manual before your first ride: it helps you get to know your scooter quickly, avoid mistakes that could lead to accidents or damage, and keep your warranty valid. The technical data is on the specs page.

In the box

  • Rolley+
  • Handlebar grips with brake levers and rear-view mirrors
  • Charger
  • Allen key
  • Four M5×8 hex socket set screws
  • User manual

Unpacking

  1. Stand the box upright and remove the transport locks.
  2. Lift the lid to reveal Rolley+.
  3. Remove the cardboard stiffeners from the handlebars and the saddle.
  4. Lift Rolley+ out of the wheel recesses, the back first, then the front.

Keep the packaging somewhere dry: it is the safest way to transport Rolley+, and you need it for a return.

First setup

Mount the grips

The grip, the brake lever and the rear-view mirror come assembled as one piece on each side. Slide each grip onto the handlebar and secure it with the two screws supplied. Tighten them to 15 Nm: screws that are too loose or too tight can damage the handlebar and cause an accident.

Adjust the mirrors

Set each mirror at about 45° to the handlebar, then tighten its screws. Adjust the mirror arm to suit your riding position.

Check the brakes

Pull both brake levers and push the scooter: neither wheel should move. If the brakes do not work properly, do not ride, and contact support.

Charge the battery

Rolley+ arrives with very little charge. Charge it fully before your first ride: see charging and battery care.

Activate it in the app

Rolley+ starts from the Scooterson app. See the app to add and activate your scooter.

Controls

Control What it does
Safety lock (P) Enables the throttle before you ride, and switches it off when you stop. The display shows P in parking mode
Assist level Three speed levels: 1 is the gentlest, 3 the fastest
Boost A short burst of extra acceleration. Use it with care
Reverse Hold to roll backwards slowly
Headlight Switches the headlight on and between low and high beam. Use high beam only in poor visibility, and never dazzle others
Turn signals Slide left or right to signal, back to the middle to stop
Hazard lights Press to flash both indicators, press again to stop
Parking light Makes the scooter visible while it is parked
Horn Warns others. Use it responsibly

The display shows your speed, the battery level, the trip and total distance, the power, the assist level, the light and indicator status, and error warnings for the battery, throttle, controller, brakes, temperature and motor.

Riding safely

  • Ride seated, with both hands on the handlebars. Rolley+ carries one rider only, up to 305 lbs (138 kg), and no heavy loads.
  • Follow your local rules for e-scooters and ride only where they allow you to.
  • Stay out of other road users’ blind spots, and signal well before you turn or change lanes.
  • Take curbs and obstacles slowly. Rolley+ is not made for off-road riding, racing or jumps.
  • Use the headlight at night and in poor visibility.
  • Avoid heavy rain, puddles, snow and ice. Wet roads make braking distances longer.
  • Do not alter the scooter. Use only genuine Scooterson parts and accessories.

Parking

Use the centre stand whenever you park for more than a moment: on a slope, soft ground or in strong wind the scooter can tip over.

  1. Lower the centre stand with your foot.
  2. At the same time, lift the saddle gently until the scooter rolls back onto the stand.
  3. Press the safety lock button (P). The display shows P.

Never sit or stand on the scooter while it is on its stand: the stand cannot take the extra weight.

Transporting

Rolley+ does not fold. Carry it in an estate car, an SUV or a van.

  1. Switch Rolley+ off in the app.
  2. Loosen the screws on the handlebar clamp and take the handlebars off.
  3. Strap the scooter upright, with bungee cords or similar, so it cannot move.

Care and maintenance

Cleaning

Switch the scooter off, make sure it is not charging, and check that the charging port is closed. Clean the body with a damp, soft cloth; stubborn dirt comes off with a little toothpaste and a soft toothbrush. Never use alcohol, petrol, solvents or a high-pressure washer. Treat flash rust on metal parts early, and clean more often near the sea.

Checks

  • Every year, check the whole scooter: tighten the screws on the handlebars, wheels, brakes and drive, and check the battery and the electrics.
  • Vibration can loosen screws and nuts over time: check and tighten them regularly.
  • Replace brake pads and tires when they reach their wear limits.
  • If you hear an unusual noise while riding or pushing the scooter, stop and find its cause before you ride on.

Storage

Store Rolley+ indoors, on a flat, dry, well-ventilated surface, away from heat and direct sun. For battery storage, see charging and battery care.
